This collection draws inspiration from the idiom, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”. Influenced by portrayals of the Tang Dynasty’s independent women and Old Hollywood’s screen sirens, we combined the opulence of fur with the subtle elegance of Swarovskii crystals to bring the seductive nine tailed fox spirit, also known as 狐狸精, to life: “It is said that when a fox is fifty years old, it can transform itself into a woman; When it is a hundred years old, it becomes a beautiful spirit and when a fox is a thousand years old, it ascends to heaven and becomes a celestial fox.” We like how our muse has this magical transformative quality that immediately gives this collection an identity. Charting the twists and turns of a woman’s emotions on her journey back for vengence, we referenced the bias cut technique and spiral cut from Madam Vionnet and Pearce Fionda respectively, integrating them as fundamental elements to present this collection’s vision.
