YUNREN spring summer 2024 collection is about expressing traditional Chinese clothing using modern materials and aesthetics while bringing her- itage into contemporary fashion. Seal-cutting is a technique used to carve stone and jade, historically used as a form of signature and a symbol of personal identity in East Asia and originated in China. “Chinese seal cutting” entered the Masterpieces of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2009. In a world where fewer and fewer people are learning intangible cultural heritage technology, I am trying to use fashion collections as a medium to raise awareness and promote Chinese heritage culture knowledge. Through the use of traditional cutting techniques combined with modern tailoring and materials, my collec- tion uses leather dyed with modern techniques, heat transfer print and digital print modern textile techniques and traditional Hanfu cutting techniques bring- ing the beauty of seal-cutting into the contemporary fashion world.
